At Bowdoin, June was a Global Citizens Grant Fellow, helping student volunteers connect with grassroots organizations abroad and prepare for their experiences. June studied abroad in Yunnan, China, and Uttarakhand, India, with the School for International Training, conducting independent research on vegetarian food culture and spiritual health. She worked with public health organizations in India, environmental sustainability camps in Tanzania, and educational organizations in Cambodia. She helped establish experimental kitchen gardens in places from the coastal U.S. to rural India to coastal Tanzania. June is fluent in Mandarin and proficient in Hindi, French, and Swahili.
CHRIS KOSKI

During college, Chris studied marine biology in Costa Rica and East European politics in the Czech Republic. After graduation, he spent a year in Australia, working with study-abroad students at Bond University, as well as diving, snorkeling, and kayaking the Australian coast. He spent the following year in South America, studying Spanish and Portuguese, trekking, taking photos, and working with children in Peru and Ecuador. He has traveled and worked in over 50 countries on six continents, including Mongolia, Croatia, Brazil, and throughout East Africa. He currently lives in a Maasai village in central Tanzania, where he studies Swahili language and culture. He plans to return to school next year to pursue a master’s degree. Chris speaks Spanish, Portuguese, and Russian, and has led our Community Service Ecuador & the Galápagos program.
